top"CROSSFIRE" on Delhi Doordarshan
10 p.m. (Primetime) on Sunday, 2nd November '97
The team from "Crossfire" invited Mr Kamal Bhambhani to attend a panel discussion on Chit Funds to be aired on Doordarshan. The other panellist was Mr Jagdish Mukhi, Finance Minister, The National Capital Territory of Delhi. The programme was anchored by the renowned Mr Jayram Ramesh.
The approach of this programme was to select one person from the Chit Industry in India and One Person from the Government. The two are supposed to point out the shortcomings in the system and suggest solutions.
The programme was very fruitful and positive. Mr Jagdish Mukhi, Finance minister of Delhi, viewed Chit Funds as playing a very positive role in the economy. He took note of all the short comings in the system as pointed out by Mr Kamal Bhambhani and offered to sort out those issues on a healthy note.
The most important outcome of the panel discussion was that Chit Funds were recognised as an alternative source of funding for the SMALL SALE INDUSTRIES. The Delhi Government will take necessary actions and legislations to pave the way for Chit Funds to assume this important responsibility.

topBlood Donation Camp
Chandra Lakshmi sponsored a complete Blood Donation Camp at the Ranjit Nagar Commercial Complex on the 22nd September 1997. This is the first Camp of its kind in this Office Complex. The camp was visited by some very distinguished guests including the sitting MLA Mr Mewa Ram Arya and the Councellor Mr Madan Balmiki. The camp witnessed hectic activity during the morning hours. Almost every one of the 15 officials of Chandra Lakshmi donated blood along with Mrs & Mr Kamal Bhambhani. Apart from these, friends and subscribers from various parts of Delhi and residents of the complex contributed in the Camp.
The special team of Doctors and Technicians from The All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) were particularly happy with the arrangements and the turnout of 111 donors. This was the second such Camp Sponsored by Chandra Lakshmi in association with the Lions Club, Delhi Greater; the first Camp at Allahabad Bank at Cannaught Place had attracted 180 Donors.
Chandra Lakshmi takes this opportunity to thank all the donors who donated blood for a noble cause. Chandra Lakshmi is also committed to taking up such social and community projects in future also and hopes to get similar participation and co- operation from its subscribers and friends.

topAll India Federation Of Chit Funds Meet
14th - 15th November 1997
The National Workshop on "Management Of Chit Funds" was organised by TIME Academy in association with the Tamil Nadu Chit Fund Companies Association on the 14th of November'97 at Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The workshop had a large scale participation of nearly 350 Chit fund operators from all over the country. The workshop was addressed by dignitaries from various fields and disciplines apart from useful contributions made by sharing experiences of eminent chit operators from all over India.
Mr Kamal Bhambhani, Executive and Treasurer Of the All India Federation Of Chit Funds, attended the two day deliberations and participated by way of presentations. The topics on which Mr Kamal Bhambhani contributed were The Statistics on Income Distribution in the Economy, their role in defining the overall market for chits and the use of these statistics in the Management of individual Chits Companies.

topChit Fund Mela
Proposed By The Delhi Chit Funds Association
The DCFA proposes to organise a "Chit Fund Mela" at the premises of the Director of Chits, Bikri Kar Bhawan, ITO, New Delhi. The Mela will have many features and will be jointly put by the Delhi Government and Chit Fund Companies.
Visitors to the Mela will have access to the Government officials who will be present to take any suggestions or complaints. The Visitors will also have the opportunity to look into the services and schemes offered by other chit companies.
The final dates for the Mela have not yet been finalised and as soon as they are finalised the subscribers will be intemated about the same.
